However, the screen alone is not enough to create an impressive backdrop. That’s why there are stage backdrops with front projection screens.
A backdrop with a front projection screen typically involves two elements: a decorative or thematic backdrop (fabric, printed, or painted) and a front projection screen in front of or integrated with that backdrop. This setup allows you to project images or video from the front, usually from the audience’s side, to enhance visuals or simulate environments.
If you don’t have a lot of space in the room where you want to place your backdrop, front projection is the best option. If you have a lot of space behind the stage itself, you can choose the rear projection option.
Depending on the size of your backdrop, you can choose to use one or more screens, and you can vary the size of the screens. At AV Drop we use three standard sizes of projection screen, but they can also be made to measure. Our three standard sizes are:

Front Projection Screens: How Do They Work?
The projector sits in front of the screen and sends light toward the audience.
The projection screen is specially made to reflect light directly back toward the viewer, maximizing brightness and contrast.
The backdrop might:
Be behind the screen, only visible when the projector is off.
Surround the screen area (e.g., filling the stage except for the screen portion).
Be the screen itself, using projection-friendly fabric or material.
